A fast-growing food delivery company who specialise in the delivery of speciality Asian foods across a number of locations are looking for an experienced CFO /FD who can help guide the business from both an internal strategy and external investment perspective. The group have some great growth plans in place for 2020 and have received a tranche of investment which will aid the ability to continue to grow their customer base and product offerings. The group is looking to maintain all the best elements of a start-up culture whilst they are growing and will look for everyone to join in the collaborative culture they have within the group.

The Role –

They are looking for an open-minded CFO / Finance Director who can see both the bigger picture and smaller details, enabling you to smoothly run the day to day operations of the Finance Team. You will be given the autonomy to recommend and implement improvements across finance and have a large involvement in the attraction and presenting to new prospective shareholders, you will work hand in hand with the company founders and other senior personnel.

Responsibilities include –

  • Develop financial approval processes and track compliance
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • All HMRC related compliance – VAT and tax returns o Allocation and tracking of capital expenditure
  • Manage the month-end process and reporting:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, analysing performance against budget
  • Prepare finance section for investor board reports o Responsible for month-end timetable and ensuring information is provided in a timely manner
  • Ownership of monthly cost reporting, ensuring spend has been allocated correctly o Developing a process to reconcile stock at month-end
  • Provide key financial information to the business for operational decisions
  • Ensure integrity of controls, and financial records, and compliance across the business
  • Lead preparation for the annual Audit and Statutory Accounts
  • Support implementation of new accounting software
  • Work with Colleagues across the business to identify and implement performance improvements

Experience & attributes

  • Strong academics, graduate (2:1) top 30 or similar, qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Minimum of 3 years PQE experience in a CFO / Finance Director role.
  • Experience in top 10 audit firm/professional services firm, large corporate or start-up
  • Strong report writing capabilities
  • Ambitious, keen to get hands-on experience in a fast-changing start-up environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and experienced in follow-through and completion of projects
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
