Job specification

As a front-end developer, you’ll be part of the product development team who are tasked with designing and implementing Concise’s event app product, Chime.

Building web apps, you will use a combination of HTML, Sass, JavaScript/jQuery and various frameworks and libraries to create apps containing event agendas, biographies, live voting, live chat and more for event attendees.

  • Implement user interfaces for event apps and add bespoke functionality as required.
  • Work with project managers, the quality assurance team and the designer to create excellent apps that look and behave as expected on the required devices and browsers.
  • Maintain code for all your event app builds with the Git version control system.
  • Take part in peer code reviews.
  • Help fix bugs and develop improvements for the core app.
  • Share experiences of customisations with the other junior developers and maintain code snippets for re-use on future apps.
  • Always represent the company in a professional manner.

Career progression

The role of junior developer includes on-the-job learning and training with a view to transitioning to a senior developer over time. (Senior developers tend to work exclusively on new features and new products).  An alternative career path is to become a project manager within the business.
