Workday Techno-Functional Consultant - Perm

Location: Bengaluru, India

Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Experience: 5+ years in Workday configuration and support across HCM, Time, Payroll, and Integrations

About the Role

We’re looking for aWorkday Techno-Functional Consultantto take ownership of configuration, integration, and continuous improvement across the Workday platform.

This is a hands-on role that bridges technical expertise and functional knowledge, supporting the full hire-to-retire lifecycle while driving enhancements across HCM, Time & Absence, and Payroll modules.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in bothWorkday configuration and system integrations, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for improving user experience and process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end

    Workday lifecycle

    — from implementation through continuous support and optimization.

  • Configure and enhance

    Workday HCM, Time & Absence, and Payroll

    modules, ensuring scalability and compliance.

  • Partner with HR, People Engineering, and business leaders to

    translate functional needs into technical solutions.

  • Develop and maintain

    business processes, calculated fields, custom reports, dashboards, and security groups.

  • Lead or support

    integrations using EIBs, Core Connectors, and APIs, ensuring data accuracy and seamless connectivity.

  • Troubleshoot complex issues across

    Recruiting, Compensation, Talent, Learning, and Performance

    modules.

  • Perform

    system health checks, monitor tenant performance, and proactively identify areas for improvement.

  • Collaborate with Tier-1 and cross-functional teams to deliver enhancements and resolve user issues efficiently.

  • Contribute to ongoing

    platform governance, documentation, and knowledge sharing

    initiatives.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience

    in Workday configuration and support.

  • Strong understanding of

    Workday HCM, including business processes, reporting, calculated fields, and security.

  • Experience with

    Time & Absence

    configuration (complex accruals, cascading leaves, automated adjustments).

  • Payroll knowledge, including earnings, deductions, posting rules, and third-party integrations.

  • Practical experience with

    Workday integrations

    (EIBs, Core Connectors, Public APIs).

  • Ability to

    diagnose and resolve

    functional and technical issues across multiple modules.

  • Deep understanding of

    HR processes and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Workday Certification / Workday PRO

    preferred.
